Dr. J. Mark Jackson is a Board Certified Dermatologist, originally from Texas where he received his medical degree at Texas A&M in 1994. He completed his Internship at Texas A&M in Internal Medicine and went on to complete his Residency at the University of Louisville in Dermatology. Since completing his Residency in 1998, Dr. Jackson has taken a special interest in drug development and education. He is actively involved in practice and teaching as an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Louisville and was voted “Best Dermatologist” by Louisville Magazine in 2010. As an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Kentucky Dermatological Association, Kentucky Medical Association, North American Rheumatological Dermatology Society and Jefferson County Medical Association, he continues to dedicate his time to improving patient care and education in the local community. Dr. Jackson has authored many chapters and articles in peer reviewed publications and has lectured throughout the country and internationally on numerous dermatology diseases and treatments. He has served on boards and committees for the American Academy of Dermatology, , American Acne and Rosacea Society, Kentucky Dermatology Society, American Board of Dermatology Test Committee, Caribbean Dermatology Association, Coastal Dermatology Symposium and Medical Dermatology Society. He is also involved as a reviewer for many of the peer reviewed journal published in field of dermatology.
Dr. Jackson joined Dermatology Specialists, PSC, a private practice that was founded by Drs. Fowler and Kasteler in 1999. Soon after joining the private practice he began working with Dermatology Specialists Research as a sub investigator on hundreds of clinical research trials. Over the years he has provided excellent care to research volunteers as a sub investigator and principal investigator in addition to consulting with pharmaceutical companies on drug formulations and development. Specializing in psoriasis and psoriatic/rheumatoid arthritis, Dr. Jackson has worked on numerous trials for conditions such as tinea pedis, atopic/contact dermatitis, rosacea, acne, cosmetics and more. In 2014, Dermatology Specialists, PSC merged with Forefront Dermatology and continues to offer patients quality care through innovative treatments and procedures.
Dr. Jackson is married with three children and enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and traveling.
